Interim Accommodation Plan Feedback Survey

Feedback Survey Results

Background
Following Virtual Public Information Meeting #1 and the results of its Feedback Survey, we reached back out to the community to gather more important feedback with regards to what the preferred Interim Accommodation Plan should be. This page provides details on the three (3) top Interim Accommodation Plan options that were selected by the School Boundary Review Committee (SBRC).

Student Pathways Interactive Tool
Participants entered their home address into our Student Pathways Interactive Tool to determine what their new home school would be once Milton #3 CSS opens. This tool also provided the student transition pathways based on the three Interim Accommodation Plan options that were currently being reviewed.

Feedback Survey
Once participants reviewed the three Interim Accommodation Plan options, they completed our Feedback Survey which will assist the SBRC as they choose the final Interim Accommodation Plan option to present to Trustees.

Feedback Survey Results

Ultimate Boundary

Based on the results of the Virtual Public Information #1 feedback survey, 69% of respondents supported or strongly supported the ultimate Milton #3 Catholic Secondary School boundaries as proposed in Option A.

At this time, the SBRC has opted to proceed with Option A for the Regular Track school boundary for Milton #3 CSS. Secondary optional programming locations will be further reviewed by the Committee.

Once the new Milton #3 CSS opens, students that reside more than 3.2 km will be transported. Grade 12 students would remain at Jean Vanier CSS and would be provided transportation if they are deemed eligible by the distance criteria.

Interim Accommodation Plan Options Comparison

In determining the order of preference for the Interim Accommodation Plan options, the SBRC reviewed the results of the Virtual Public Information Meeting #1 Feedback Survey, as well as additional site specific data for each option.

There will be pros and cons for each interim plan, a pros/cons summary is provided below:

Updated Interim Accommodation Plan Options

Below are the top three (3) Interim Accommodation Plan options that the SBRC is proposing to obtain additional feedback from the community. Since they were last presented as part of the Virtual Public Information Meeting #1, a more definitive transition plan with greater detail is being presented as it relates to the following components:

  1. Affected grade cohorts between the year 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23
  2. Which location students are going and when
  3. Program information
  4. Transportation details

In addition to this information, we encourage you to use the Student Pathways Interactive Tool, which will help you understand what the impacts will be on yourself/family based on grade levels as of September 2020. All this information should assist you with completing the Interim Accommodation Plan Feedback Survey.
