North Oakville #4 CES is located in the new residential development area of North Oakville, within the North Oakville East Secondary Plan. The North Oakville development area contains many low and medium-density residential developments. Approximately 12,600 residential units, of varying densities, are expected from this new community.
Currently, all elementary students within the North Oakville community are being accommodated at St. Gregory the Great CES for JK to Grade 8. However, St. Gregory the Great CES is projected to approach site capacity and will not be able to accommodate future students from the North Oakville community.
On October 20, 2020, the Ministry of Education approved funding for North Oakville #4 CES. The Board is currently proceeding with municipal approvals and construction in order to have the facility ready for September 2022.
As a response to the above concerns, Board staff initiated a New Development/Holding Area Administrative School Boundary Review Process involving St. Gregory the Great CES on May 4, 2021.
On June 28, 2021, the School Boundary Review Committee met virtually and reviewed the current school boundaries and several proposed school boundaries for North Oakville. The Committee moved to present Option 2 as the preferred proposed boundary to the community for feedback.

The YouTube video below provides detailed information on the School Boundary Review process, current school boundaries and proposed school boundaries.
Currently, all of the North Oakville community is directed to St. Gregory the Great CES.
Based on residential development growth in this community, St. Gregory the Great CES is projected to require portables in the 2021-2022 school year and continue to require additional portables each year until total site capacity is exceeded in the 2024-2025 school year.
This school cannot accommodate new students with the current boundaries after the 2023-2024 school year.
Under the proposed school boundary (Option 2), areas of the North Oakville community East of Sixth Line will be directed to the new North Oakville #4 CES, starting with JK to Grade 7 students in the 2022-2023 school year. Grade 8 will be added to North Oakville #4 CES the following year.
Grade 8 students within the new North Oakville #4 CES boundary will be grandfathered at St. Gregory the Great CES for the 2022-2023 school year.
As a result of the proposed boundaries, enrolment at St. Gregory the Great CES declines within building capacity until 2028-2029 school year. At that point, additional students may be accommodated through additional new schools in the North Oakville community. North Oakville #4 CES will start to increase in enrolment following the opening of the facility in the 2022-2023 school year, with portables required by the 2025-2026 school year. Additional new schools in North Oakville may be required to accommodate students in the growing community following that year.
The School Boundary Review Committee were in agreement that the proposed boundary in Option 2 met the six criterias when reviewing school boundaries.
Community members were invited to provide their feedback for the proposed boundary option presented on this page from September 15 to September, 22, 2021. Thank you for all your contributions! A summary report of the Online Suvey Results can be viewed here.
Once public feedback is received, it will be considered by the Committee at the next Committee Working Meeting. Once the Committee selects the preferred proposed boundary, it will be provided to Board staff to review and be presented to the Board of Trustees for consideration and approval.
The full review milestones are available in the North Oakville #4 Catholic Elementary School Boundary Review webpage. An opportunity to delegate may be available.
